These guys did an awesome job on our new deck! Highly recommend! They’ve also done other flooring for our church and did a great job there as well. My favorite thing about them is they go the extra mile to make sure the clients are happy with the project. If you want quality work, at a reasonable price, with a company you can trust- this is it.Posted on Google![]()

Chase and crew replaced the flooring in my whole house with LVP. Had a couple places that needed repair which he did flawlessly. He kept in contact and texted any repairs that needed extra work. He moved all furniture and put back in place. Very good jobPosted on Google![]()

We could not be happier with our experience working with Draper Flooring. Chase and Derek provided the perfect blend of professionalism and craftsmanship. Not only did they steer us toward a superior flooring product but they installed it quickly and with an attention to detail that is rare to see these days. We highly recommend DFR and hope to work with them again in the future! Dan PeetsPosted on Google![]()

They were very professional and efficient, caring about what they were doing. I work from home and they asked/let me know when they were going to use loud tools. I would recommend them to anyone.Posted on Google![]()

Had several things that needed fixing at our cabin in rural Virginia and had been struggling to find someone that would do it. Contacted owner Chase Draper who promptly came out, gave me an estimate and then professionally handled everything we asked him to do. He could not do part of the job, so he contacted me as I was out of town, got another contractor out who could do the work to give me an estimate and reduced the original estimate to match the work done. I recommend Chase highly and will use him again whenever the need arises.Posted on Google![]()

Deck building in Radford starts with your lot, not a stock plan. We look at how close you sit to the New River. We also check your slope and your home’s style. Then we design a deck that fits all three.
Bisset Park sits on Berkley Williams Drive, right on the riverbank. Homes on the low ground nearby sit close to the water, and some fall in the city flood zone. Older in-town homes stand a few blocks up the hill. A deck built for one would not suit the other.
The New River runs past more of Radford than Bisset Park alone. Homes near the Riverway trail and Riverview Park share the same riverbank. If your yard backs up to the water, your deck needs a plan built for high water.
Before we draw your deck, we check the flood map for your lot. It shows whether your yard falls in the city flood zone. That answer shapes every choice that follows.
Next, we plan the parts of your deck that meet the ground:
Flood-zone lots need one more step. Radford requires a zoning permit for any work in a floodplain district. We tell you at the start if your lot needs one.
On September 28, 2024, the New River crested at just over 31 feet in Radford. That was its second-highest mark on record. Floodwater covered parts of Riverview Park and the Riverway that week. We ensure your deck has things like this in mind so it can stand the test of time.
We are readily available to thoroughly inspect an existing deck if you’re unsure whether to repair or replace it. We also provide complimentary deck design services to help you end up with a deck that fits your home, lot, and vision. Schedule a meeting today!
Radford has kept many of its older homes. Glencoe Mansion on First Street was finished by 1876 and still shows the city’s Victorian roots. Across town, the East Radford Historic District covers Norwood, Stockton, and Downey Streets and Grove Avenue. Many homes there were built between 1866 and 1916.
A plain box deck can look out of place on a house like that. We match your rails, posts, and trim to the lines of your home. The goal is a deck that looks like it was always there.
Yards near Wildwood Park call for a different plan. The park’s wooded trails and rock cliffs sit tucked among homes, and some yards nearby slope hard. On ground that steep, your deck may need taller posts or a two-level layout.
Yes, most decks in Radford need a city building permit. If your lot sits in a floodplain district, you also need a zoning permit. We check which ones your project needs before we build.
Often, yes. We check the flood map first. Then we plan your posts and footings with a flood-safe design.
Yes, we match rails, trim, and color to your home’s era. Check with the city about any design review before your project starts.
